What is it right? As a rule and to my knowledge Arsenal, United, Liverpool and most other Premiership team's followers appear to be able to admit quality in other teams when they see it. And as long as there have been no serious bad judgements or cheating during a game, (which can lead to all sorts of nasties which I can understand and sympathise with) will take a defeat on the chin?
I mean, I may slope off with the hump, not read any reviews or news coverage, avoid the phone, throw things about my flat, kick stuff, cancel appointments, play practical jokes on the opponent's fans and hold fairly lengthy grudges, but not a right lot more than that. I can take it!
I got a sweet humble text from a United fan (Andy Mac) saying "Good game Kiddo" which I didn't expect but appreciated, but yeah, you guessed it, a tyrade of crap from none other than a few boring old Chelsea fans. Not content in seeing you have your moment. I pray Karma comes about and we thrash them in May. ;-)
It brought me to wonder why it always seems to be them though! Noticed it? They are doing well, yes, they have alot of money, (albeit stolen Roubles), yes, they can buy whoever they like, blah blah blah, but never seem to be able to control the urge to turn a pleasant bit of banter into a narky fight. I'm not sure I have yet met one that does not walk round with head stuffed firmly up their own Arse. (Smug may be a politer phrase.) Heavily worsened somewhat by the departure of Ranieri and arrival of the mighty King of arrogance Moanyho. It may be something to do with the silverware cupboard being fairly empty for a whole 49 years. Maybe they will calm down after winning a few times in the league. Or suffering a few heartaches which may be preferable.
Anyway girl, rise above it. Ignore a pest and it goes away - don't stoop low to return a swipe - blahdeblah. I knows it. But I'm tired. Off up the golden trail as me Pa used to say.
