FRANCES AND KIRIA "DO" CELIA BIRTWELL'S IN WESTBOURNE GROVE

Hey honeys. It's been such a wonderful week, so many different reasons for the big punchworthy grin on my face it's hard to pin them all down in a blog, I'd be here all night and give away ALL my secrets! But aside from taking trips in Cadillacs and finally releasing album number 1 at last as of today, I had a wonderful afternoon with a truly beautiful West London character-and-a-half that goes by the name of Frances Lynn.

If you haven't come across this lady yet, then you really ought to, because she is a star, a true, real, London character who's lived an inredibly interesting life, and is a great fun writer to boot so she SHARES her witty enthusiasms!

We met today in the shop of Celia Birtwell in West London, who designed the artwork for Frances'  current book, that goes by the name of Frantic.... (for sale in Celia's shop or online from amazon UK)

I asked for my signed copy, and when upon opening the book for the first time glanced across the first three sentences I came across, which were something about smuggling LSD into the US, The Tibetan Book Of The Dead, a quip about giving a blow job and somebody quoting a line from a Hendrix tune, I knew this read and I were going to go to bed happily early together....

After a non boozy,  (yes, I managed it!) naughty, wonderfully gossip laden lunch in the Cow which consisted of a plate of greens and mashed potato, which was amazingly delicious, (and considering the somewhat unusual eating habits between the two of us, an amazing feat that we had anything), followed by another trip back to the shop involving a marevellously funny moment with a hearing aid in a handbag, before teetering off to catch the number 31 bus. (A real step down from the Cadillac I cried!) Upon embarking we strangely witnessed a lady in a very loud voice say "WOULD YOU LIKE ANOTHER JELLY BABY?!".

Cue more tremendous fits of laughter from the two of us, and as we finally parted, I ran home smiling more than ever. Great week. Here's a link to Frances' book Frantic, and her blog. Check it out. And don't forget I told you about said lady's infectious character first, HERE! Thanks to Frances,  long may you inspire and be inspired!

And for those amongst us that READ books without rude pictures in (for me that's unusual) - it's an easy read, I promise....here's the links to pick up a copy of Frantic,
