London's burning!

Yes, I tell you, it's not all bad....

What with most of the world at war in one way or another, the "Music" world in the shit pits systematically being roughly taken from behind by the practically demonic Simon Cowell, Major Record Labels and co with their uninspiring brigade of Cheryl I quote "I was so poor even my Barbie was a hand-me-down!!!!" Cole-esque wallpaper Popstars, "REALITY" tv drivel that is force fed to us, our ever-groing nation of plump little human battery hens, fenced in all too scared to go out and be creative because we believe what journalists pump in to us through the ghastly Media. Yes, that's what they want, a pile of fat, useless turds that happily consume the obscenely dangerous chemicals in every flipping over priced piece of crap we can buy to eat or "you need to put this on to look beautiful like this" cancer inducing beauty potions to slather on our little over-worked bodies etcetera etcetera "ooh you need it you do because you all need to look like this", ah man, it's hard not to get depressed sometimes eh?

The good news is, there are good things going on. It's not all bad out there and there is always room for things to change against the odds, there is always hope. I personally get a thrill when people get tired of complaining or wallowing in all sometimes overpowering if you let them negatives and pull together in some way, like when something creative comes together and works, it really comes off and all sorts of people get inspired by it and lose themselves in some way, in a haze of creative freedom. That's when you see people really enjoying themselves. I saw that very thing this week and it really cheered me up. It got me out of a rut and made me feel great again about my own projects and what I actually do Music for. Gave me a bit of focus I think I needed to get on again.

In my local stomping Ground Portobello Road was an exhibition called "MUTATE BRITAIN", a collective of Art by a group of quirky, inspired individuals that was utterly relevant to now, interactive and exciting, all the things we really really could do with, right now more than ever....

I'm afraid "One Foot In The Grove" under the Westway finishes today (sorry I didnt get round to posting it earlier), but it will be shown again at the "Behind The Shutters" Gallery in Curtain Road, EC2 shortly and running up to Christmas. It's only a quid to get in and I defy you not to Love it! A few snaps I took of the Artwork and more to follow. I had to let you know to look out for it and keep smiling. :-)
