Good Morning!
Hey. How goes it? I'm just about recovered from Monday's shoot, and thankfully so is my beautiful niece Lydia, who has been in hospital since Monday. It was a close call and scared the daylights out of us but we are all relieved to have her home and safe. :-)
News of Michael Jackson's death hit the headlines last night, as you highly likely well know by now. It does seem somewhat sad that someone with quite so much talent was exploited at such a young age, as more often than not the pressure of stardom leads to their demise in one way or another.... I'd be safe cos I'm an old bag already ;-)
Anyway, hope all is well with anyone reading this. These are difficult times. I'm just working from home now, waiting on the final cut of the video, sending the single off to be pressed, awaiting arrival of the new website, (struggling to get a new biography outta someone as it sure aint my strong point - ever tried writing yourself up in one paragraph?!) and getting ready to get it out there at last! Woohoo, exciting times, I'm feeling really happy! :-D.
The difficult thing with all this record release stuff is what goes on behind the scenes. It's all actually got to be ready ages and ages before you put it out, and as soon as you do stick one out, the second single and video has to be ready, and the album and all the artwork has to be ready, blahblahdeblah, so you end up working like a dog where it may look as though you probably don't have to do a right lot. She says, trying to get the sympathy vote, ha! No, I am not complaining, honest!, the past few months have been fantastic, really great, I can't think of anything I would rather be doing. But it takes up to two months for you to build up to release date, so if you stick all the video making/recording and design and print times on top it can feel like forever. :-( Anyway, nearly there....and maybe one day I'll get a holiday!
Ooh., if you like films go and see Looking For Eric by Ken Loach, it's really funny. So good I'm going to see it again which is rare for me! I also went to a fantastic exhibition at the St Pancras Hospital Arts Centre of Artwork from Inmates at Pentonville Prison, it was excellent, and curated by Peter Herbert, who does some fab work himself, a few examples of which are here. Anyway, back soon, happy weekend to you, I hope the sunshine holds out as it's been fabulous.... XXXX
