Yep, girls. Arent we fabulous??
It's been a lovely weekend. At the very last minute on Friday I realised that my old guitarist (if many of you were around when it was an all girl act) - supersexy Luita, had a gig in Soho with her band, The Last Grand. I'd forgotten we were Rock and Roll chicks for a reason and our after party allowed me just a few hours sleep, but was a great laugh. Taylor sloped off a bit earlier for once so was bright and bushy tailed nexto I the next day, but we did have a great band rehearsal in the end, after a few fairly shabby runs through! Well, it's been a while! The boys were on form, especially Ed on the old tubs - what a super drummer. Yep, we sound hot if I do say so myself. But back to the girls.
The Queen Bee sounded great but I think I'll take the old gold strings off now - they look great but I think I prefer my usuals. Iv'e had a proper girly weekend. I went off after the rehearsal with Anna - my fabulous superchick mate. We had a wicked night at Ronnie Scotts - watching jazz funk band "Real" who were a knockout - really good. Great exciting percussion from Sola Akinbola - the lovely groover responsible for the beats in gorgeous Jamiroquai's sound. Also was about the best - well - one of the only female saxophonists I have ever seen who was amazing. Great stuff. Do check them out if you see them around....
It was a nice change for me to go somewhere a bit different. Not sure on the old sitting at seats for gigs, but the lil old club is rather cute.
Anyhow, I'm off out in a bit - no rest for the wicked. I made a desicion earlier in the week to get myself out more as I've not been very sociable of late. I'm making up for it pretty well so far. Watch me drop come tuesday! ;-)

OH - other news is we may be playing at a little street party in Highbury on Saturday the 7th July - assuming the rest of the band are game - I will check as it would be nice to see my fellow Gooners in the break for a beer or two! Let me know if anyone will be about and up for it, I know for some lucky gits it's holiday season now....:-(
