I'M NOT COMING DOWN!!

Ahhhh. I woke up this
morning feeling so high, I put on my best shoes and I'm feeling pretty fly....

Well, you might be pleased
to know that we are all still reeling from the Sunrise gig. Well, Taylor and I
can't shut up anyway. The poor major rock star in waiting has to sit behind a
minor desk in a torturous office all day which is a million miles away from
where we were 48 hours ago! I certainly hope they don't expect any work from her
corner today 'cos she ain't gonna do it! (Hahahaha, when you put a spellcheck on
"gonna" it says "gonad" in the list, how fab..) What a come down. At least I am
safe at home with a stereo and my own comforts.

We had no idea what to
expect reaction wise from an otherwise uninspired crowd....I was quite shocked
at the type of clientele at Sunrise, it being the first time I have visited a
festival for some time now - apart from my blessed Gay Pride - (nightmare
Glastonbury experience finished me off)

Me leaving the toilet area, less than
impressed....

The boys are told they are having
lentil soup for tea backstage....

Nope, things were going to
be tough. Even though the standard of bands on the main stage was pretty high,
most people seemed more interested in jugglers, techno, horse and cart rides and
other various more alternative forms of entertainment. the skies had grown grey
and it was getting a little colder.....threatening to rain, you get the idea....
It had been a blisteringly hot weekend, texts and calls flooding to my phone
sounding really positive. By Monday I had the feeling we were left with the
bedraggled recovering lot. Sunburned, hung over faces, a large portion of whom
had or were about to pack off home for clean sheets and hot water. Well, I hope
they were.. ;-)

The crew do hippy bling, doing their
best to fit in....

 The few hours before
going on stage, I stood behind it watching the reaction of the people that were
watching which was not at all wonderful. If it wasn't great for obligatory rock
and guitar bands, some good looking boys and girls playing current, appealing
(to some) music very mush of now. If they didn't like them, how on earth were
they going to take the Punk Pop stomp of a set that we had in store?! Visions of
tomatoes and rotten eggs flying toward us whizzed through my mind. Anyway, we
took to that stage, plugged in and thankfully found that the reaction was
amazing!

All I could see for miles
across the field were people rushing towards us. This amazing lady with two
small children dressed in amazing big, floaty ruffled dresses danced around
excitedly by the front of the stage. People started to gravitate toward us like
bees to honey.... The best bit is it didn't stop! These fantastic lads all came
to the front and danced excitedly, piling on top of each other's shoulders for a
better view, all jumping up and down and screaming. It was so fantastic. I had
an amazing group of girls dancing through the entire set in front of me that
were really enjoying it. We were fantastic because the crowd were fantastic. The
most amazing bit for me being that it was such a diverse mixture of people. Old,
young, middle aged, teenage, tiny children, it was a real eye opener. I felt so
proud to have been able to do that!

Being pinned into my outfit, in my
"dressing room"..................

The lads at the front just
couldn't contain themselves and climbed over the barriers to get up on the
stage! Unfortunately removed by security guards, as we really enjoyed it!
Everybody fed off each other and the set was brilliant. Annoyingly before we
went on they had demanded we cut it short as others had gone so over time. We
sneakily shoved another two on before (much to the audience's and my own dismay)
being made to leave the stage. More fool them, as it swiftly dwindled back into
a bored, unresponsive crowd just minutes into the next band's set.

I am starting to feel like I
am gloating on here which could be a tad dull so I shall leave it at that! I'm
on the phone booking more gigs today so watch this space cos I'm not stopping!

Lots of Love, xxxx
