Happy Mondays

to you! Mine is a happy Monday, because despite having a bit of a murky head, I was lucky enough to witness my two favourite Punk Rock Superheroes Mr Mick Jones AND Glen Matlock perform together on the stage I am soon to grace, wahoooooo, I'm getting really excited now!!!! I've always wanted to play at the 100 Club and last night was a fantastic gig in a truly marvellous exciting little venue, you HAVE to come on the 13th please! Mick and Glen, joined by Steve Diggle of the Buzzcocks played Train In Vain, which is my absolute favourite Clash song in the world, and hearing that I really could have died and gone to musical heaven. I never thought I'd get to hear that live. They did some Pistols classics too so it was a real treat and everyone went nuts and I came out looking like I'd done ten rounds in the ring but it was really weally worth it, every second. Right, I'm cooing away like mad which I guess kind of explains why my diary has had nothing in it for the past week, which is because its been mad. Madly exciting and slightly strange in places, but hey, that's the beauty of life hey?

It all started on Tuesday with my other favourite lyrical genius, Morrissey, this time in the dreaded Brixton Academy which I just can't stand as a venue. Not only is it smack bang in one of the biggest shitholes of London, but if you have to stand upstairs like I did, you end up with a bit of a wall of sound problem which is a little annoying. His voice was fantastically clear and soothing as ever, Life Is A Pigsty stood out as my highlight of the night, it was amazing. I did have a few problems getting the full impact of him and his excellent band, which have bizarrely been the focus of a few duff reviews this time around. Critics really are the shit pits aren't they? I can't stand reading Music reviews sometimes, I don't know why some of those people don't just fuck off and die. I certainly would not go and review a band I wasn't actually interested in as I wouldn't be able to stomach watching a whole show by an artist I don't rate just to rip their attempts up and put people off having a really great night out...

Which brings me to my next point, I am working on a little project at the moment and wonder if any of you know anybody who fancies themselves as a Music writer and would be interested in reviewing a track or two or even the whole shebang of my album? Drop me a mail about yourself or person you nominate, stating what you do and why you are interested at kiriablog@googlemail.com

Right, I'm going on a bit now so I'll sign off for now, inabit.... Lotsalove x
