Morning
Howdy doody peeps! Survived the weekend? I had a bit of a mad one on Friday - unexpected but good fun, courtesy of Luita and my own skills at cheating guestlists. Some places just have a cheek to try charging.....Yeah, so, I just about spent the rest of the weekend recovering really, apart from a session with Sally, a fab violinist we found, courtesy of Gary Lammin of the Bermondsey Joyriders (currently on tour in the U.S. but you will be hearing more from them....)
Oh my LORD did anyone have the displeasure of catching Duffy last night on the Beeb???? I'm sorry to be mean about another female artist, I normally try and hold back when it's a girl, but that was TERRIBLE! I only caught the last song as I'd been back on the Westerns, ooooh I Love em, but I truly wish I'd never seen it, as did the crowd by the looks of it who looked remarkably unmoved when trying to muster an enthusiastic clap at the end. Not good. They did seem to have given her a good make over, so she looked a bit less boring than usual, but it just helped fuel my disgust at the lack of credibility and originality her "machine" holds for me. I guess Polydor are just pleased to have a blonde Winehouseee to flog that can actually stand up on stage without falling. :-( Nil points peeps, that's definitely a case of take the cash and run.
Well, one more interview in the bag this morning for the Graeme Logan show on Leith FM, who was rather sweet but kept reffering to me as "Kiara", which, aherm, is "not my name", to quote the stupendously annoying other bird on the block, that band the "Ting Tings", another act that have left me completely unmoved since their arrival....and I tried I promise.
It was quite amusing though to be faced with the question, "So, you won an Italian Music contest at 17.......?" To which I replied, "No, I didn't....." hahahaha. Perhaps I should have kicked off, all diva style in a "Do you know who I am" type manner a la Diana Ross for a laugh, but hey, with hindsight eh? Who's brain has kicked into gear at 10 am on a Monday morning? (Sorry, those who have been at work for two hours already)
Anyway, an exciting bit of news, well, if you support Arsenal that is, is that Ian Wright went to Paul Kaye's gig in my local last night. Two legends in one spot, aaaaahhhhh, cue me cursing Adie in the studio all week for not reminding me.... mind you, I've only just about recovered on the scar front from his last show........... :-)
Ok, breakfast beckons and the cupboard is bare so I may have to leave the house. I know, it's a poor show damn it. Inabit peeps. XX
