I popped down to
FINALLY be sociable in one of my old Camden town haunts to watch a World Cup
game in company yesterday, stopping by one of my favourite Punk stalls first to
get clobbered up and insulted. Fabulous. I got my head all geared up, body
dressed up and went for it. Yep - 'alf inched England flag tied round my waist,
I got right into the spirit of things. Three beers, two pizzas and a bowl of
nuts later and 60 minutes into the game I realised, hunched over my table in
dismay that perhaps the old socialising game wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
Even with my heaven sent rock and roll star vodka wielding Bass goddess and her
monkey pants climber cutie in tow I still felt a longing for home. The vibe just
wasn't there for me. Well, England wasn't there for me. The buffoon like
tactical decision making from our manager and slightly dragging performance from
the lads (yes - you Lampard, what's goin' on?) was politely clapped on by herds
of  "make the best of it" lads, worryingly professing this was our greatest
play yet and that we were through and that was all that mattered etc etc....

Nah. Not impressed. Yes we are through but
blimey have we winged it. Luck is on our side. Fabulous but at the same time not
terribly exciting. Popped into the Elephants head to get a bit of Rock n Roll in
before whisking my excited Holland supporting Dutch fruitcake Taylor home for
what turned out to be a truly exciting 94 minutes!

The referee thought it was Christmas and
slap happily handed out a card to practically every one he met which was quite
surreal, all unfortunately ending in a one nil win to Portugal. Luckily for us
the mighty orange Lovelies taking a couple of  possible threats out with
them in the form of two sending offs and a couple of bans. With performances
like the ones so far from England we'll be needing all the help we can get, so
thank you Holland!

Onwards and upwards I hope. Gearing up for
work and meetings this week. Its going to be big. Just remember you heard it
here first.

Oooh, I excitedly got my first run of badges
and plectrums now so I'll be smothering you with goodies at the next gig!
Beware, my pins are sharp for those not wishing to comply.
